Sunday, June 11th, 2017 3PM Johannes Brahms Alto Rhapsody Conducted by: Glenn Quader Soloist: Nakia Verner
The ending of the concert "The Lyrical Brahms" with Piedmont Symphony Orchestra. Nakia Verner, soloist.
MDLO was honored to join with Piedmont Symphony Orchestra yet again for our third collaboration of this season! PSO closed their 21st season with an all Brahms program entitled, The Lyrical Brahms. MDLO was featured on the concert reprising the Alto Rhapsody. Our vocalists are led by soloist Nakia Verner who returns to the Highland Center after her triumph as Mother earlier this season in Menotti's Amhal and the Night Visitors. The audience experienced the added warmth and beauty of our male chorus who combined with PSO, provided an exciting and inviting foundation for the artistry Nakia Verner brings to the piece.
The program included: Variations on a Theme of Haydn, Op. 56 *Alto Rhapsody, Op. 53 Featuring soloist Nakia Verner* Symphony No. 3 in F Major
